How to Take the Bus from Da Nang to Hoi An for Just 8 RMB: A Budget Traveler’s Guide 🚌
If you opt for a Grab to Hoi An, the one-way fare can exceed 100 RMB. However, taking the bus is a much more budget-friendly option, costing only a fraction of that amount [Sly face].

🚌 How to take the bus?
Near My Khe Beach, you can stroll over to Ke Nesta Hotel, where the bus stop is located. The sign for the bus stop is not very noticeable (refer to picture 1), so keep your eyes peeled. The waiting time can be unpredictable, with buses arriving approximately every 23 minutes. I personally waited for almost 20 minutes.

♻️ Do you need to transfer?
According to Google Maps, you should first take bus number 02 and then switch to LK02. In reality, it’s the same bus. Bus 02 will make a brief stop at a location similar to a bus terminal, but you don’t need to get off; just stay seated until the driver resumes the journey.

💰 How to pay the fare?
When you board the bus, inform the conductor of your destination. They will initially collect 10,000 VND. At the transfer station, you’ll need to pay an additional 15,000 VND.

🕙 How long does it take in total?
The entire journey from Da Nang to Hoi An takes about 45 minutes. There are several stops along the way, and if no passengers are getting off, the bus will skip them, making the trip quite efficient. Make sure to keep track of your stops. Once you arrive, it’s about a 20-minute walk to the ancient town, or you can take a Grab if you prefer.

The total transportation cost is 25,000 VND, which is roughly 8 RMB—about the price of a cup of coffee [Cute face].

For the return trip:
The return bus stop is conveniently located right across from where you got off, but the fare for the return trip is slightly higher at 35,000 VND.
