Nha Trang, Vietnam is really a cost-effective island vacation spot. The prices are very cheap, but there are also many traps… I’ve summarized some experiences for those who plan to go next, as a reference.
–
Visa: It’s best to get it done in advance in your home country,
200 RMB per person. The queue for visa on arrival is long and time-consuming.

When going through customs, put 10 RMB per person in your passport. Although many people say it’s not necessary, personally, I think it’s worth spending a little money to avoid any hassle.
–
Exchange Rate: 1:3400, you can exchange in advance in your home country or bring cash to exchange locally. You don’t need to exchange too much, as the prices are very cheap.

In the end, when we didn’t have enough Vietnamese Dong, they also accepted RMB [laugh-cry emoji]
–
SIM Card: Buy online in advance for
35 RMB, at the airport it costs 50 RMB. I didn’t buy a SIM card, instead, I activated international roaming and purchased a Belt and Road overseas data package, choosing the Vietnam region,
8.

8 per day, 44 for 5 days
–
Hotel: In the city center, 200-300 RMB can get you a business hotel equivalent to a four-star hotel in China. If you like staying at resorts, there are many nice options on the island, after all, the natural scenery is right there.

Nha Trang city is not big, and most places are only 4-5 kilometers away.

Just take a white or green taxi, and remember to ask the driver to use the meter! Locals do like to take advantage of Chinese tourists, with detours and not using the meter being quite common.

You must try the local street Vietnamese noodles, usually around 13 RMB for a bowl of beef noodles, large portions and super delicious!

Also, the tile-grilled meat and local seafood are pretty good, just go to a place with clear pricing. There’s a small night market in the city where three plates of seafood and a bucket of beer only cost
60 RMB

I have to say, the UV rays in Vietnam are really strong!

During the day under the sun, my skin felt burning Fortunately, this time I brought a Yano Ko sunscreen jacket, which feels cool when worn, and has a UPF50+ rating higher than the national standard. The milky color is also very pretty! The waist-cinching design makes it look slimming

I totally agree that getting the visa in advance is the way to go, the lines for visa on arrival can be brutal. Also, good tip about the 10 RMB in the passport, those little things really make a difference when traveling!
Good tips! I didn’t know about the 10 RMB trick for customs. Also, did you try any specific local food that’s really cheap yet tasty?
Thanks for your kind words! Yes, the 10 RMB trick is super helpful. I loved Banh Mi and Che Tra Sua—both are cheap and delicious. Happy travels!
